IntroductionAbout Der BringerDer Bringer is an excellent chess program by Gerrit Reubold. The interface is very clean and the engine is powerful enough for most amateurs (estimated ELO 2300-2350). Der Bringer comes with a 1.2-MB opening book. A larger opening book is available. You can also use Nalimov endgame tablebases with Der Bringer. If you want to use the Der Bringer engine in a ChessBase program, use the file bringer.eng.Der Bringer's user interface may be set to English, but the Help files are only available in German. While you easily can start playing chess against Der Bringer, the program has many features you may not be aware of. Click here to see a list of the new features of Version 1.8. About This ManualThis manual uses hyperlinks and bookmarks. There is a Quick Navigation toolbar at the top of every page. If your browswer supports Javascript, clicking a "Back" hyperlink on any page will take you back to the place you linked from. Otherwise, please use your browser's Back button. Because some pages are long and contain many images, I suggest you set your browser to "full screen" while using the manual. You may find it easiest to create a shortcut to the manual and place it on your Desktop. To do this, right-click on the file index.htm and select New, then select Shortcut. Cut and paste the shortcut to your Desktop.I hope you find this manual useful. Please let me know of any errors or unclear areas.
